Laminate flooring is an exceptionally widely used choice of flooring because of its durability, ease of maintenance, and economical price. A relatively new addition to the market, laminate has quickly increased in popularity as a substitute for real wood or stone floors. Laminate flooring is a variety of artificial composite flooring made up of several layers, typically with a fibreboard core topped with a decorative layer featuring a printed image of the design, and then finally covered with a wear layer that protects the floor from scratches and other forms of damage.
Because laminate floor incorporates a decorative layer that can incorporate any kind of image, it is available in a huge variety of different effects to mimic the appearance of many other styles of flooring like real wood or slate. While the majority of laminate floor features a smooth top layer, it can also include embossed or textured effects which mimic other forms of flooring. Laminate flooring is suitable for a wide range of rooms, but be careful if you plan on fitting it in a bathroom as specific moisture proofed laminate will have to be used. When choosing the perfect laminate for your property, select one with a suitable Abrasion Class (AC) ranking, as this designates the quantity of traffic the laminate is graded to perform well under.
Laminate flooring is relatively easy to install due to its snap or click together design. However, it is often time consuming to install a substantial amount of laminate, and also tricky to cut the planks to the precise dimensions, as well as difficult to ensure that the appropriate underlay and damp proofing is installed to suit your house. Specialist flooring companies will be able to help you on the most appropriate laminate floor for your property, and guarantee that it is fitted to the best quality.

Abergavenny is a market town in Monmouthshire, Wales. It’s around 15 miles west of Monmouth on two dual carriageways, and 6 miles from the English border. Not surprisingly, the town is referred to as the ‘Gateway to Wales’. Situated at the confluence of a tributary stream, the Gavenny and the River Usk, it’s virtually completely surrounded by two mountains, the Blorenge along with the Sugar Loaf, and 5 hills. It offers a route to the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons National Park. The Offa’s Dyke Path is nearby along with the Marches Way, the Beacons Way and Usk Valley Walk all go through the town.
Historically the site of a Roman fort, Gobannium, it developed into a mediaeval walled town within the Welsh Marches. As outlined by the 2011 Census, the town has a permanent resident population of 10078. Within this population, around 10 per cent speak Welsh, seeming to have improved considerably from the 2 per cent recorded in 1991. The town boasts the remains of a mediaeval stone castle built just after the Noman conquest of Wales.
As a traditional market town, a wide variety of markets are held within the Market Hall, including a retail market, a farmers’ market, an antique fair as well as a craft fair. The town was also host to the 2016 National Eisteddfod of Wales, a yearly celebration of the culture and language in Wales. It tends to attract over 150000 visitors and more than 250 stalls every year.
