Laminate flooring is an extremely common choice of flooring because of its durability, ease of maintenance, and economical price. A relatively recent addition to the market, laminate has rapidly grown in popularity as a substitute for real wood or stone floors. Laminate flooring is a variety of artificial composite flooring consisting of several layers, generally with a fibreboard core coated with a decorative layer featuring a printed image of the design, and then lastly protected with a wear layer that protects the floor from scrapes and other types of damage. Because laminate floor contains a decorative layer that can incorporate almost any image, it comes in a huge range of different styles to mimic the appearance of many other styles of flooring like real wood or slate. While the majority of laminate floor includes a smooth top layer, it may in addition include embossed or textured effects which mimic other kinds of flooring. Laminate flooring is ideal for a wide range of rooms, but be cautious if you plan on installing it in a bathroom as specific moisture proofed laminate will have to be used. When choosing the perfect laminate for your house, pick one with an appropriate Abrasion Class (AC) ranking, as this designates the quantity of traffic the laminate is graded to perform well under. Laminate flooring is not too difficult to install because of its snap or click together design. However, it can be time consuming to install a considerable amount of laminate, and also tricky to cut the planks to the precise size, as well as difficult to ensure that the appropriate underlay and damp proofing is fitted to suit your house. Specialist flooring companies can advise you on the perfect laminate floor for your space, and ensure that it’s installed to the best quality.
