Carpets are a hugely popular selection of flooring, particularly in rooms of the house where comfort is important, like living rooms and bedrooms. Carpet identifies a kind of flooring where a material is either woven or tufted to a backing cloth. Carpets can be found in a large array of colours and designs to match any design of interior decoration, as well as in numerous different types of fibre and piles. Several of the more popular types of fibre materials include the man-made fibres polypropylene and nylon, and the natural fibres wool, sisal, or jute. These types of carpet are frequently available in short or deep pile and can be produced using a range of manufacturing methods, such as twist, Saxony, loop pile, Berber, cut and loop, or velvet. Carpets may appear in patterned, plain or striped designs.
All of the different types of carpet are scored according to their performance and how successfully they are suited to different levels of traffic. They are typically specified to be either medium domestic, meaning bedrooms or studies, heavy domestic, specifying living and dining rooms, and very heavy domestic, suitable for utility rooms or hallways. It is always recommended to install carpet with a layer of underlay underneath, as this will improve the look and feel of the carpet, as well as extending its life and delivering better sound and thermal insulation.

Berwick-upon-Tweed is a town within the county of Northumberland. It’s the northernmost town in England. It’s located 2.5 miles (4 kilometres) south of the Scottish border, at the mouth of the River Tweed, on the east coast of the United Kingdom. It is 56 miles (90 kilometres) south east of Edinburgh, 65 miles (105 kilometres) north of Newcastle upon Tyne and 345 miles (555 kilometres) north of London. The 2011 UK Census recorded Berwick’s population as 12,043. A civil parish and town council were established in 2008. Berwick was established as an Anglo-Saxon settlement through the time of the Kingdom of Northumbria, which was annexed by England during the 10th century. The area was, for over 400 years, central to historic border wars among the Kingdoms of England and Scotland, and numerous occasions possession of Berwick changed hands between the two kingdoms. The final time it changed hands was when England retook it in 1482. Berwick remains a historic market town and also has some notable architectural features, in particular its medieval town walls, Elizabethan ramparts and Britain’s earliest barracks buildings. Slightly more than 60% of the population is employed in the service sector, such as shops, hotels and catering, financial services and most government activity, such as health care. About 13 per cent is in manufacturing, 10 per cent in agriculture, and 8% in building. Some present and recent Berwick economic activities include salmon fishing, shipbuilding, engineering, sawmilling, fertilizer production, malting and the manufacturing of tweed and hosiery.
