Carpets are a hugely popular choice of flooring, particularly in rooms of the home where comfort is essential, like living rooms and bedrooms. Carpet designates a type of flooring where a material is either woven or tufted to a backing cloth. Carpets can be found in a huge variety of colours and patterns to suit any type of interior decor, as well as in a multitude of different types of fibre and piles. Several of the more widespread examples of fibre materials include the artificial fibres polypropylene and nylon, and the natural fibres wool, sisal, or jute. These types of carpet are usually available in short or deep pile and can be manufactured by using a range of manufacturing methods, such as twist, Saxony, loop pile, Berber, cut and loop, or velvet. Carpets may be found in patterned, plain or striped designs. All of the different kinds of carpet are ranked according to their performance and how well they are suited to different levels of traffic. They are typically specified to be either medium domestic, meaning bedrooms or studies, heavy domestic, specifying living and dining rooms, and very heavy domestic, suited to utility rooms or hallways. It is always recommended to install carpet with a layer of underlay underneath, as this can enhance the appearance of the carpet, as well as extending its life and delivering better sound and thermal insulation.

Goodwick is a seaside town in Pembrokeshire, south-west Wales, immediately west of its twin town of Fishguard. The coasts of Wales went through Norse raids through the Viking Era and, in the latter 10th century, Norse trading posts and settlements ended up being formed. Goodwick was a small fishing village in the parish of Llanwnda, but in 1887 work started on a train connection and harbour, and the village developed dramatically to service this. The main market is now tourism though in the town’s industrial past brick making was formerly an important industry. Some fishing still takes place on a small scale but most activity is centred on Milford Haven. The nearby beach, Goowick Sands, is where the overpowered French invasion force united just before their outright surrender on 24 February 1797. Fishguard and Goodwick train station served regional rail visitors from the town, and from close-by Fishguard, until the line was effectively closed to such travelers by the decrease in service to boat trains only in 1964. After this, trains merely served Fishguard Harbour and the station fell into disrepair. Following investment from Network Rail and Pembrokeshire County Council the station has actually now been re-built and was reopened for guests once again, on 14 May 2012. It is served by the boat trains and the recently introduced local trains. The town is additionally served by the Fishguard town service bus, which runs alternately from Harbour Village or Stop-and-Call, formerly a distinct settlement, to Fishguard town hall. 2 Fishguard to St. Davids bus routes also travel through the town.
