Carpets are a very popular selection of flooring, particularly in areas of the home where comfort is crucial, like living spaces and bedrooms. Carpet defines a kind of flooring in which a material is either woven or tufted to a backing cloth. Carpets come in a wide variety of colours and styles to complement any type of interior decor, as well as in many different kinds of fibre and piles. Several of the more common types of fibre materials include the synthetic fibres polypropylene and nylon, and the natural fibres wool, sisal, or jute. These types of carpet are usually available in short or deep pile and can be made using a range of production methods, such as twist, Saxony, loop pile, Berber, cut and loop, or velvet. Carpets may appear in patterned, plain or striped designs.
All of these different types of carpet are rated according to their performance and how successfully they are suited to different amounts of traffic. They are typically specified to be either medium domestic, meaning bedrooms or studies, heavy domestic, specifying living and dining rooms, and very heavy domestic, suited to utility rooms or hallways. It is always recommended to install carpet with a layer of underlay underneath, as this will enhance the appearance of the carpet, as well as extending its life and delivering better sound and thermal insulation.

The Boldons are a group of three tiny villages in the north eastern of England – East Boldon, West Boldon as well as Boldon Colliery – north of Sunderland, eastern of Newcastle as well as south of South Shields and Jarrow. They have a population of 13,271. Lying within the historical limits of County Durham, the villages are first recorded in print in 1170. Their names advanced from the words “Bold” or “Botl”, suggesting a structure, as well as “dun”, indicating a hill. In 1866, work started sinking a pit that began creating coal in 1869, as well as was then known as Boldon New Winning. The town that created close by in the 1870s ended up being known as Boldon Colliery. When the mine was strengthened and expanded in the 1910s, additional housing to suit the labor force was constructed to the south of the pit in a location referred to as Boldon New Town. Until 1974 the area was administered as an urban district of County Durham, yet since then has been part of the borough of South Tyneside. In 1976, the Boldon Colliery Band appeared in episode 13 of the tv collection When the Boat Comes In. The mine enclosed 1982 but more work became available when an Asda supermarket opened up in 1987. Recent developments consist of Boldon Business Park. Boldon Colliery also has its own multi-screen movie theater run by Cineworld. The major senior high school in the location is Boldon School, a specialist sports university.
