Brackley is a town within south Northamptonshire. It’s roughly 19 miles (31 km) from Oxford and 22 miles (35 km) from Northampton. In the past, it was a market town which focused on the wool and lace trade, it was constructed around the intersection of trade routes in between London, Birmingham and the English Midlands and in between Cambridge and Oxford. Brackley has a population of around 13,018 (2011 Census) which has increased considerably from 2,467 in 1901. The town was the site of an important meeting among the barons and representatives of the King in 1215, the year of the Magna Carta. The plate which is still in the possession of St Peters Church is dated 1623, and is inscribed with the names of seven men, whom local folklore believes to have been the morris dancers.
