Ceramic tiling is a popular flooring option in kitchens or bathrooms. It’s typically used in these rooms as it is very durable and moisture resistant, especially if you choose glazed ceramic tiles which have a moisture proof melted glass protective coating. This protective covering is immune to stains and dirt, which means the tiles can simply be wiped clean, making them very easy to maintain. Ceramic tile flooring is also relatively cheap, and is available in a huge selection of designs as they can be printed in patterns or to simulate the appearance of many other flooring options such as hardwood or natural stones. Nevertheless, ceramic tiles continue to be popular in traditional designs such as terracotta or dark gloss.
Ceramic floor tiling is installed directly onto a concrete or backing board subfloor with a layer of mortar as adhesive and lastly grout is added between the tiles to act as a sealant. Adequate preparation of the concrete subfloor is crucial when putting in ceramic tiles, as any bumps or ridges in the floor can noticeably decrease the lifespan of your tiles and cause them to crack or warp prematurely. Underlay cannot be used with ceramic floor tiles, which may lead to them feeling cool in the winter, although a favorite remedy to this is to add rugs to accomplish a warmer result.

Ellon is a town in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. It is almost 16 miles (26 km) north of Aberdeen, lying on the River Ythan, which has some of the few undeveloped river estuaries on the eastern coast of Scotland. It is in the ancient region of Formartine. Its name is considered to originate from the Gaelic term Eilean, an island, on account of the presence of an island in the River Ythan, which offered a hassle-free fording point. According to population estimates from 2006, the town has a permanent resident population of around 9860 people. Ellon has gained from the North Sea oil demand, and is among the primary dormitory towns for Aberdeen. Regular and frequent bus services link Ellon with Aberdeen, Inverurie, Peterhead, Fraserburgh and surrounding towns and villages, serving both the town centre and the large Park and Ride facility at the eastern edge of the town. Ellon is part of the proposed Energetica corridor of development. The population is expanding as young families seek to get out of Aberdeen and relocate to surrounding towns like Ellon, Inverurie and Banchory. During 2006, Ellon ranked as the town with the fourth most rapidly increasing average house prices in Scotland. Places of interest within the town feature the ruins of Ellon Castle, surrounded by walls referred to as the Deer Dyke, and the Auld Brig, a category A listed bridge spanning the Ythan, developed in 1793 and still in use as a pedestrian bridge. The Riverside Park provides pathways beside the Ythan, from which herons, salmon, trout and otters can be observed. The Meadows sports centre has many sporting facilities and clubs, featuring football and rugby pitches, an astroturf pitch for hockey, a fitness center, and a multi-use sports hall. For all of your home makeovers, be sure to identify reputable experts in Ellon to make certain of quality.
