While tiling is more regularly used to protect bathroom and kitchen walls, it can be a very beautiful flooring option. Relatively inexpensive, floor tiling comes in a multitude of designs and styles and is suitable for use in many areas of your home. Floor tiling is usually applied to bathroom or kitchen floors as it is easy to clean and very strong, as well as being moisture proof. Floor tiles are usually manufactured from ceramic or porcelain, however they are available in many other options of material such as slate, marble and limestone, each of which will have a different appearance and durability.
When installing floor tiling, it is very important to ensure that the base surface is as clean and level as possible. Tiling also usually needs an extra backing board to be laid on top of the present floor in order to ensure a flat finish and to protect the lifespan of your tiles. After this extra board is installed, a layer of mortar is used to stick the tiles down, and then the gaps in between are filled with grout to seal the tiles against moisture. Fitting tiles yourself can be a difficult job which could require lots of tile cutting, and any errors can be extremely costly to rectify or even damage your floor, so choose an expert to fit your floor tiling. Specialist tiling companies can suggest for you the ideal tile to use for your room, and guarantee the fitting is of an exceptional standard.

Alexandria is a town in West Dunbartonshire, Scotland. The town is situated on the River Leven, 4 miles (six km) north-west of Dumbarton. In 2001, the population of the town was 13,444. It is the largest town in the Vale of Leven. Alexandria developed due to the textile business. In 1715, the first bleachfields in the area were started at Dalquhurn, attracting seasonal labour from Argyll. As trade between Scotland and the United States grew, cotton was increasingly imported and processed in and around Glasgow. Quickly, textile work within the Vale grew from just bleaching fabric to dying and printing it also. The town’s conventional industries, most of all cotton manufacturing, bleaching and printing, have been phased out. The town was redeveloped during the 1970s with a brand new town centre layout and traffic system. Close by landmarks include Christie Park and also the fountain in the town centre. Alexandria is located on the former A82 main road between Glasgow and Loch Lomond. You’ll find regular bus services on the route and the town has a railway station on the rail line in between Balloch and Glasgow Queen Street. The town is considered to be the only UK town with a railway station along with a pub in the center of a roundabout. The writer A. J. Cronin’s uncle owned a pub in Bridge Street. Alexandria Library is located on Gilmour Street. The town is home to the Vale of Leven football club, who play at Millburn Park. The club were a dominant force in early Scottish football history, winning the Scottish Cup in 1877, 1878 and 1879, and were founding members of the Scottish Football League. For all your home improvements, be certain that you employ trustworthy experts in Alexandria to ensure that you get the top quality service.
