Laminate flooring is a very popular choice of flooring because of its durability, ease of maintenance, and affordable price. A comparatively recent addition to the market, laminate has rapidly grown in popularity as an alternative for real wood or stone flooring. Laminate flooring is a type of artificial composite flooring composed of several layers, usually with a fibreboard core coated with a decorative layer featuring a printed image of the design, and then lastly covered with a wear layer that protects the floor from scrapes and other forms of damage. Because laminate floor includes a decorative layer that can include any sort of image, it comes in a huge selection of different looks to mimic the looks of many other types of flooring like real wood or slate. While the majority of laminate floor features a smooth top coating, it may additionally include embossed or textured effects which mimic other styles of flooring. Laminate flooring is suited to a wide range of rooms, but be cautious if you intend on fitting it in a bathroom as specific moisture proofed laminate should be used. When choosing the right laminate for your property, decide on one with an appropriate Abrasion Class (AC) ranking, as this designates the amount of traffic the laminate is scored to perform well under. Laminate flooring is relatively easy to install because of its snap or click together design. However, it is often time consuming to install a large amount of laminate, and also tricky to cut the planks to the exact size, as well as difficult to ensure that the appropriate underlay and damp proofing is installed to suit your house. Specialist flooring companies can give you advice on the ideal laminate floor for your space, and ensure that it’s fitted to the highest quality.
