Laminate flooring is an exceptionally widely used choice of flooring because of its durability, ease of maintenance, and inexpensive price. A comparatively new addition to the market, laminate has quickly increased in popularity as an alternative for real wood or stone flooring. Laminate flooring is a type of man-made composite flooring made up of several layers, typically with a fibreboard core coated with a decorative layer featuring a printed image of the design, and then finally protected with a wear layer that protects the floor from scrapes and other forms of damage. Because laminate floor includes a decorative layer that can incorporate any type of image, it comes in a huge selection of different styles to mimic the appearance of many other types of flooring like real wood or slate. While the majority of laminate floor features a smooth top coating, it can also include embossed or textured effects which mimic other kinds of flooring. Laminate flooring is suited to a number of rooms, but be cautious if you plan on installing it in a bathroom as specific moisture proofed laminate should be used. When choosing the right laminate for your property, select one with an appropriate Abrasion Class (AC) ranking, as this designates the amount of traffic the laminate is ranked to perform well under. Laminate flooring is relatively easy to install due to its snap or click together design. However, it is often time consuming to install a huge amount of laminate, and also tricky to cut the planks to the precise size, as well as difficult to ensure that the appropriate underlay and damp proofing is fitted to suit your house. Specialist flooring companies will be able to help you on the perfect laminate floor for your home, and ensure that it’s installed to the best quality.
