Carpets are a hugely popular preference of flooring, particularly in areas of the home where comfort is important, like living rooms and bedrooms. Carpet identifies a kind of flooring where a material is either woven or tufted to a backing cloth. Carpets come in a huge variety of colours and designs to accommodate any type of interior decoration, as well as in a multitude of different types of fibre and piles. Several of the more common examples of fibre materials include the artificial fibres polypropylene and nylon, and the natural fibres wool, sisal, or jute. These types of carpet are normally available in short or deep pile and can be manufactured by using a variety of production methods, such as twist, Saxony, loop pile, Berber, cut and loop, or velvet. Carpets may be found in patterned, plain or striped designs.
All of these different types of carpet are categorised according to their performance and how effectively they are suited to different amounts of traffic. They are generally specified to be either medium domestic, meaning bedrooms or studies, heavy domestic, specifying living and dining rooms, and very heavy domestic, suited to utility rooms or hallways. It is always recommended to fit carpet with a layer of underlay underneath, as this can improve the appearance of the carpet, as well as increasing its life and delivering better sound and thermal insulation.

Kingsbridge is a market town as well as traveler center in the South Hams district of Devon, England, with a population of 6,116 at the 2011 census. 2 selecting wards birth the name of Kingsbridge (East & North). Their mixed population at the above census was 4,381. It is positioned at the northern end of the Kingsbridge Estuary, a ria that encompasses the sea 6 miles south of the community. It is the third largest settlement in the South Hams and also is 32 miles (51 km) south-southwest of Exeter. The community created around a bridge which was integrated in or before the 10th century in between the royal estates of Alvington, to the west, and Chillington, to the eastern, therefore giving it the name of Kyngysbrygge (“King’s bridge”). In 1219 the Abbot of Buckfast was provided the right to hold a market there, as well as by 1238 the negotiation had actually become a district. The manor continued to be in possession of the abbot till the Dissolution of the Monasteries, when it was granted to Sir William Petre. Kingsbridge was never represented in Parliament or included by charter, the local government being by a portreeve. It lay within the thousand of Stanborough.
