Carpets are an extremely popular selection of flooring, particularly in rooms of the house where comfort is crucial, like living spaces and bedrooms. Carpet is the term for a kind of flooring where a material is either woven or tufted to a backing cloth. Carpets are available in a wide variety of colours and patterns to match any design of interior decoration, as well as in many different types of fibre and piles. A few of the more common examples of fibre materials include the artificial fibres polypropylene and nylon, and the natural fibres wool, sisal, or jute. These kinds of carpet are usually available in short or deep pile and can be produced by using a variety of manufacturing methods, such as twist, Saxony, loop pile, Berber, cut and loop, or velvet. Carpets may come in patterned, plain or striped designs.
All of the various types of carpet are ranked according to their performance and how well they stand up to different amounts of traffic. They are generally graded to be either medium domestic, meaning bedrooms or studies, heavy domestic, specifying living and dining rooms, and very heavy domestic, suited to utility rooms or hallways. It is always recommended to install carpet with a layer of underlay underneath, as this will enhance the appearance of the carpet, as well as increasing its life and providing better sound and thermal insulation.

Knighton (population 3,172) is a tiny market community and community in main Powys (previously Radnorshire), Wales, on the Teme as well as the England– Wales border. A small part of the town, consisting of Knighton train station, remains in Shropshire, England. This Anglo-Saxon negotiation later became a Norman fortified town. The town has a range of shops offering a huge country hinterland and also using 18% of the energetic population and also is, after production (18.81%), the biggest employment industry. Or else, as well as alike with numerous small towns, Knighton has little industry. Most young people leave after finishing their education. Tourism is essential as well as, subsequently, the location was struck hard by the foot and mouth epidemic of 2001. Although earnings are low as well as 20%+ of homes have no automobile, Knighton has an unemployment rate (2001) of just 2.88%. Responsibility for economic growth lies with the Welsh Assembly Government. Knighton seclusion makes it an unlikely choice for the commuter and, consequently, the majority of the functioning population (69.45% in 2001) job within a 12 miles (19 km) Traveling to Work Area. The Welsh name, Tref-y-clawdd, meaning “community on the dyke”, was first recorded in 1262 and formally provided to the town in 1971. The name Knighton possibly stems from the Old English words cniht (a soldier, personal fan, young man, servant, thane or freeman) and tun (ranch, settlement or homestead). Hence it might have been founded through a grant of land to freemen.
