Carpets are a hugely popular choice of flooring, especially in areas of your house where comfort is crucial, like living rooms and bedrooms. Carpet identifies a type of flooring where a material is either woven or tufted to a backing cloth. Carpets can be found in a huge array of colours and designs to complement any design of interior decoration, as well as in many different types of fibre and piles. Several of the more widespread types of fibre materials include the artificial fibres polypropylene and nylon, and the natural fibres wool, sisal, or jute. These types of carpet are generally available in short or deep pile and can be produced by using a variety of production methods, such as twist, Saxony, loop pile, Berber, cut and loop, or velvet. Carpets are available in patterned, plain or striped designs.
All of the various types of carpet are graded according to their performance and how well they stand up to different levels of traffic. They are generally specified to be either medium domestic, meaning bedrooms or studies, heavy domestic, specifying living and dining rooms, and very heavy domestic, suited to utility rooms or hallways. It is always recommended to fit carpet with a layer of underlay underneath, as this can increase the look and feel of the carpet, as well as extending its life and offering better sound and thermal insulation.

Withernsea is a seaside hotel town and civil church in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England, as well as forms the prime focus for a broader community of tiny towns in Holderness. Its most popular landmark is the white inland lighthouse, climbing around 127 feet (39 m) over Hull Road. The lighthouse– no longer active– currently houses a gallery to 1950s starlet Kay Kendall, that was birthed in the community. The Prime Meridian crosses the coastline to the north-west of Withernsea. According to the 2011 UK census, Withernsea parish had a population of 6,159, a rise on the 2001 UK census number of 5,980. Like many seaside resorts, Withernsea has a large promenade which gets to north and also south from Pier Towers, the historic entrance to the pier, constructed in 1877 at an expense of £ 12,000. The pier was originally 399 backyards (365 metres) long, however was gradually reduced in size through numerous influences by regional ships, beginning with the Saffron in 1880 before the collision by an unrevealed ship in 1888, once more by a Grimsby fishing boat and also again by the Henry Parr in 1893, leaving the when grand pier with a plain 50 feet (15 metres) of damaged timber as well as steel, which was removed in 1903. The Pier Towers have been reconditioned.
