Ceramic tiling is a popular flooring option in kitchens or bathrooms. It’s generally fitted in these rooms as it is extremely durable and moisture resistant, particularly if you opt for glazed ceramic tiles which include a moisture proof melted glass protective covering. This protective covering is resilient to stains and dirt, meaning the tiles can simply be wiped clean, making them particularly easy to care for. Ceramic tile flooring is also comparatively cheap, and is available in a huge choice of designs as they can be printed in patterns or to simulate the look of many different flooring options such as wood or natural stones. However, ceramic tiles remain extremely popular in traditional designs such as terracotta or dark gloss. Ceramic floor tiling is installed directly onto a concrete or backing board subfloor with a layer of mortar as adhesive and lastly grout is added in between the tiles to act as a sealant. Sufficient preparation of the concrete subfloor is critical when putting in ceramic tiles, as any bumps or ridges in the floor can dramatically reduce the lifespan of your tiles and cause them to break or bend prematurely. Underlay cannot be used in combination with ceramic floor tiles, which can lead to them feeling cold in winter months, although a favorite remedy to this is to add rugs to attain a warmer result.

Alloa is a town within Clackmannanshire, set inside the Central Lowlands of Scotland. It is located on the north bank of the Firth of Forth next to the foot of the Ochil Hills, 5.5 miles (8.9 km) east of Stirling and 7.9 miles (12.7 km) north of Falkirk. The name potentially means ‘rock plain’. During the 2001 census, Alloa had a permanent population of 18,989. Upgrades had been made to the harbour throughout the 1700s, leading to Alloa thriving as a river port through which the products manufactured in Glasgow were exported to continental Europe. During that time, and till the 1950s, the primary industry for the north and east of the town was coal mining. Wool has also normally been plentiful locally and in the early years of the nineteenth century, John Paton started a small yarn-spinning business within the town, later establishing Kilncraigs Mill. His business merged with J. & J. Baldwin of Halifax in 1924 to become the world-famous Paton & Baldwins Ltd. Alloa was known for its weaving and glassmaking industries through the 19th and into the early 20th century. Alloa has long been linked to the brewing industry, with a minimum of nine major breweries producing ales at its height. It was also home to a distillery. After the closure of the distillery, barrel cooperage has continued to flourish in the town. The town contains a thriving shopping centre, with nationally recognised supermarket chains on the site of the old distillery, near to the railway station. For all of your residence improvements, be sure that you utilise trustworthy specialists in Alloa to make sure you get the very best quality work.
