Ceramic tiling is a popular flooring option in kitchens or bathrooms. It’s normally used in these rooms as it is very durable and moisture resistant, particularly if you opt for glazed ceramic tiles which have a moisture proof melted glass protective coating. This protective coating is resistant to stains and dirt, meaning the tiles can simply be wiped clean, making them especially easy to maintain. Ceramic tile flooring is also fairly inexpensive, and is available in a wide variety of designs as they can be printed in patterns or to imitate the appearance of many other flooring options such as wood or natural stones. However, ceramic tiles continue to be very popular in traditional designs such as terracotta or dark gloss.
Ceramic floor tiling is installed directly onto a concrete or backing board subfloor with a layer of mortar as adhesive and lastly grout is added in between the tiles to act as a sealant. Proper preparation of the concrete subfloor is critical when installing ceramic tiles, as any bumps or ridges in the floor can significantly decrease the lifespan of your tiles and cause them to split or bend prematurely. Underlay cannot be used with ceramic floor tiles, which can lead to them feeling cool in the winter, although a common solution to this is to add rugs to achieve a warmer result.

Ledbury is a Herefordshire market town, lying east of Hereford, and west of the Malvern Hills. According to the 2011 Census, the town has a permanent population of 9290. Ledbury reaps the benefits of an income from tourism, being steeped in history in an eye-catching rural area. It has a significant variety of timber-framed structures, particularly along Church Lane and High Street. One of the most standout is the Market House, built in 1617, set in the town centre. Other significant buildings consist of the parish church of St. Michael and All Angels, the Painted Room, consisting of sixteenth-century frescoes, the Old Grammar School, the Barrett-Browning memorial clock tower, designed by Brightwen Binyon and opened in 1896 to house the library till 2015, nearby Eastnor Castle, and the St. Katherine’s Hospital site. Established around 1231, this is a scarce surviving example of a hospital complex, with hall, chapel, a Master’s House, which was completely rejuvenated and opened in March 2015 to house the Library, almshouses and a timber-framed barn. The town is the site for different events including the Poetry Festival. The Market Theatre, thought to be the first in the world to open in the new millennium, is situated near the town centre. They show films regularly and play host to small and mid-scale professional touring shows, including some celebrations in the Poetry Festival. The annual Community Day takes place in June each year. The first such event was an Ox Roast on 2 June 2013 to commemorate the diamond jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II’s crowning, exactly 60 years after an ox roast that was hosted in 1953 in Ledbury on Coronation Day.
