While tiling is more commonly used to cover bathroom and kitchen walls, it can be a very attractive flooring option. Relatively inexpensive, floor tiling is available in a wide variety of designs and styles and is appropriate for use in many areas of your home. Floor tiling is most often applied to bathroom or kitchen floors as it is easy to clean and highly resilient, as well as being moisture proof. Floor tiles are generally produced from ceramic or porcelain, but they are available in many other options of material such as slate, marble and limestone, each of which will have a different appearance and durability.
When installing floor tiling, it is vital to ensure that the base surface is as clean and level as possible. Tiling also typically requires an extra backing board to be laid on top of the existing floor so as to ensure a flat finish and to maintain the lifespan of your tiles. After this additional board is installed, a layer of mortar is used to adhere the tiles down, and then the gaps in between are filled with grout to seal the tiles against moisture. Fitting tiles yourself can be a difficult job which could require lots of tile cutting, and any mistakes can be very expensive to correct or even cause damage to your floor, so choose a professional to lay your floor tiling. Experienced tiling companies can suggest for you the ideal tile to use for your room, and ensure the fitting is of a high standard.

Ledbury is a Herefordshire market town, being found east of Hereford, and west of the Malvern Hills. According to the 2011 Census, the town has a permanent population of 9290. Ledbury reaps the benefits of an income from tourism, being immersed in history in an attractive rural location. It has a significant number of timber-framed structures, particularly along Church Lane and High Street. Among the most outstanding is the Market House, developed in 1617, found in the town centre. Other significant buildings consist of the parish church of St. Michael and All Angels, the Painted Room, consisting of sixteenth-century frescoes, the Old Grammar School, the Barrett-Browning memorial clock tower, designed by Brightwen Binyon and opened in 1896 to house the library until 2015, nearby Eastnor Castle, and the St. Katherine’s Hospital site. Started around 1231, this is a scarce surviving example of a hospital complex, with hall, chapel, a Master’s House, which was entirely rejuvenated and opened in March 2015 to house the Library, almshouses and a timber-framed barn. The town is the site for a variety of events including the Poetry Festival. The Market Theatre, thought to be the very first in the world to open in the new millennium, is situated near the town centre. They show movies regularly and play host to small and mid-scale professional touring shows, including some events in the Poetry Festival. The annual Community Day occurs in June each year. The very first such celebration was an Ox Roast on 2 June 2013 to salute the diamond jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation, exactly 60 years after an ox roast that was held in 1953 in Ledbury on Coronation Day.
