Floor Tiling

Although tiling is more frequently used to cover bathroom and kitchen walls, it can be a very beautiful flooring option. Relatively inexpensive, floor tiling comes in numerous designs and styles and is appropriate for use in many parts of your home. Floor tiling is frequently suited for bathroom or kitchen floors as it is easy to clean and highly resilient, as well as being moisture proof. Floor tiles tend to be produced from ceramic or porcelain, but they can be purchased in many other choices of material such as slate, marble and limestone, each of which will have a different appearance and durability. When installing floor tiling, it is vital to ensure that the base surface is as clean and level as possible. Tiling also often requires an extra backing board to be laid on top of the pre-existing floor so as to guarantee a flat finish and to preserve the lifespan of your tiles. After this extra board is installed, a layer of mortar is used to stick the tiles down, and then the gaps in between are filled with grout to seal the tiles against moisture. Installing tiles yourself can be a difficult job which can require lots of tile cutting, and any mistakes can be extremely costly to correct or even damage your floor, so choose a specialist to install your floor tiling. Experienced tiling companies can suggest for you the ideal tile to use for your room, and ensure the fitting is of a superior standard.
