Renovating floors could entail an array of tasks, from cleaning and maintenance, repairing existing flooring or even completely removing and replacing flooring. The sort of restoration work will be based upon the kind of the pre-existing floor. In older houses with period floors like flagstone, quarry tile or parquet, restoration will usually include repair and cleaning of the existing floor as it will likely be an appealing attribute of the home. In newer houses with carpet or real wood flooring, restoration is more likely to consist of completely exchanging the current flooring, either like for like using a similar material, or by changing from one material to another. For wooden floors, the approach of renovation generally consists of sanding the top layer of hardwood down, cleaning and then revarnishing or staining. Tile floors can be cleaned and any broken or damaged tiles swapped out, followed by regrouting or resealing. For carpets, maintenance can usually only extend to cleaning of the pile, any further issues or damage will typically require replacing the carpet. Experienced floor renovation companies can advise you of the best method to breathe new life into tired floors or bring old flooring up to a high standard. Specialist tools may also be essential for repairing or replacing flooring.

Abercraf is a village in Brecknockshire in the county of Powys, Wales and has a population of 696. It is situated in the south of the county in the Upper Swansea Valley, 2.5 miles north-east of Ystradgynlais. It sits just outside of the boundaries of the Brecon Beacons National Park and the Fforest Fawr Geopark. Abercraf has a history in coal and iron. Thomas Harper, the resident coalowner, established a small ironworks in 1824. The British Iron Company acquired the works in 1825 for £19,541 and leased minerals on the neighbouring mountain, Cribarth. It was unsuccessful and it stopped production in 1826 when they realised that costs were exceeding the selling price. The village has a number of amenities, including pubs, a rugby union club, a primary school and a fire station. It is also home to a Miners’ Welfare Hall, keeping the tradition of its coal mining past. Abercraf sits between the slopes of the miniature mountain Cribarth, which is famous for its ‘Sleeping Giant’ outline. The Giant is formed from a combination of the natural topography of the mountain and unused limestone quarries. If you live in Abercraf and need a new boiler, make sure you find quotations from no less than three vetted installers.
