Renovating floors may require a variety of tasks, from cleaning and maintenance, repairing existing flooring or even completely removing and replacing flooring. The sort of restoration work will depend on the variety of the existing flooring. In older properties with period floors such as flagstone, quarry tile or parquet, renovation will usually consist of repair and cleaning of the existing floor as it will likely be a desirable element of the home. In modern properties with carpet or wood flooring, restoration is more likely to require totally exchanging the current flooring, either like for like with a similar material, or by changing from one material to another.
For wooden floors, the process of renovation commonly involves sanding the top layer of real wood down, cleaning and then revarnishing or staining. Tile floors can be cleaned and any broken or damaged tiles exchanged, accompanied by regrouting or resealing. For carpets, maintenance can usually only extend to cleaning of the pile, any further problems or damage will usually require replacing the carpet.
Experienced floor renovation companies can advise you of the best method to breathe new life into tired floors or bring old floors up to a high standard. Specialist tools might also be required for repairing or replacing flooring.

Calne is a town and civil parish in Wiltshire, southwestern England, at the north western edge of the North Wessex Downs hill range. A marked Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Calne is situated on a small river, the Marden, which rises 2 miles (3 km) away in the Wessex Downs, and it is the only town on that river. During the time of the 2011 Census, Calne had a permanent population of about 17,000 citizens. Ever since the end of the 1990s, Calne expanded dramatically in contrast to the majority of other towns in the South West area. The Lansdowne Park property development, finished at the end of 2008, has greatly grown the physical scale of the town, making a completely new north-western suburb. This consists of a new primary school, a medical centre and a modest shopping area including a mix of stores. This type of redevelopment has drawn in professional workers from traditionally more prosperous areas for example, Bath, Bristol, Marlborough and as far afield as the ‘silicon valley’ towns of main Berkshire. Popular buildings in the town include St Mary’s Church, a selection of houses on The Green, and the town hall. Of specific note is Calne Library, opened by the Queen in 2001, which has won accolades for its state-of-the-art design. Since the demolition of the Harris pork factory and the completion of the initial stage of redevelopment regeneration in 2001, Calne has seen Cotswold stone, comparable to local limestone, being employed together with smart red brickwork, formerly saved for fine classical buildings. For all your home upgrades, make sure to make pick of reputable experts in Calne to ensure a good quality service at a competitive price.
