Renovating floors can entail a wide range of tasks, from cleaning and maintenance, repairing existing flooring or even completely removing and replacing flooring. The type of restoration work will depend upon the type of the present floor. In older homes with period floors such as flagstone, quarry tile or parquet, restoration is likely to consist of repair and cleaning of the pre-existing floor as it will likely be a desirable element of the house. In newer homes with carpet or real wood floors, renovation is more likely to consist of entirely exchanging the existing floors, either like for like with a similar material, or by changing from one material to another. For wooden flooring, the method of renovation often involves sanding the top layer of real wood down, cleaning and then revarnishing or staining. Tile flooring can be cleaned and any broken or damaged tiles substituted, accompanied by regrouting or resealing. For carpets, maintenance can usually only extend to cleaning of the pile, any further problems or damage will commonly require replacing the carpet. Professional floor renovation companies can advise you of the best solution to breathe new life into tired floors or bring old floors up to a high standard. Specialist tools are often essential for repairing or replacing flooring.

Faversham is a market town and civil parish in the Swale region of Kent, England. The town lies 48 miles from London and 10 miles from Canterbury. According to the 2011 Census, the town has a permanent population of around 19316, raising by 1606 from the 2001 Census. It sits close to the Swale, a strip of sea that divides mainland Kent from the Isle of Sheppey in the Thames Estuary. It is near to the A2, which travels through an ancient British trackway used by the Romans and the Anglo-Saxons, referred to as Watling Street. The town’s name is a blend of Latin and Old English, which translates to mean ‘the metal-worker’s village’. Faversham has had a settlement since prior to Roman times, and archaeology has established that a Roman theatre was established in the town. In time, the town emerged as an essential seaport and centre for brewing. The Shepherd Neame Brewery, established in 1698, continues to have a notable part in the regional economy as a significant employer. Between the 17th and the beginning of the 20th century, the town was the centre of the dynamites market, which decreased after an accident in 1916 killed more than 100 employees. This decrease happened simultaneously to the re-emergence of the town’s freight industry, meaning that it had only a minor effect on the economy. There are a number of landmarks to be seen in the town, with churches such as St. Mary of Charity, Faversham Parish Church, the Maison Dieu and Faversham Recreation Ground. Existing for over 900 years, the market continues to be located in the town centre.
