Renovating floors may require an array of tasks, from cleaning and maintenance, repairing existing flooring or even entirely removing and replacing flooring. The type of restoration work will be based upon the type of the current flooring. In older properties with period floors like flagstone, quarry tile or parquet, renovation will usually consist of repair and cleaning of the pre-existing floor as it will likely be an important element of the home. In newer houses with carpet or hardwood floors, restoration is more likely to require totally exchanging the existing floors, either like for like utilising a similar material, or by changing from one material to another. For wooden floors, the approach of renovation commonly involves sanding the top layer of real wood down, cleaning and then revarnishing or staining. Tile flooring can be cleaned and any broken or damaged tiles replaced, accompanied by regrouting or resealing. For carpets, maintenance can usually only extend to cleaning of the pile, any further problems or damage will commonly require replacing the carpet. Specialised floor renovation companies can advise you of the best method to breathe new life into tired floors or bring old flooring up to a high standard. Specialist tools might also be essential for repairing or replacing flooring.

Haslemere is a town in the district of Waverley in the south of the English county of Surrey. It is at the tripoint along with Hampshire and West Sussex, positioned 12 miles southwest of Guildford. In accordance with the 2011 Census, the town has a population of 16826, and the town covers an area of 8.98 square miles. Settlements in the local area have been dated back to 1221. Its development is regarded to have been induced by Richard II in 1394 when it was granted a charter, which was declared by a new charter issued by Elizabeth I in 1596. This special status is recognised every two years by the Charter Fair, which is held in the High Street. Originally one of the rotten boroughs, Haslemere undertook major redevelopment after the building and construction of the Portsmouth Direct Line, which linked the town with Waterloo and Portsmouth Harbour train stations. It quickly came to be a popular region in which to live by the middle of the 19th century, and it continues to act as a commuter town for London. The town’s high street is noticeably wide, which goes back to its use as a cattle market prior to the 1920s. Located in the high street is a mix of, mainly independent, shops, restaurants, cafés and pubs. Wey Hill is another area that contains a number of independent shops, a bank, dining establishments, takeaways and a pub. This is also the site of the library and two supermarkets. The town is also known as the home to Carl Dolmetsch, an instrument maker, whose company brought back the recorder in the late 19th century.
