Renovating floors may involve a wide range of tasks, from cleaning and maintenance, repairing existing flooring or even entirely removing and replacing floors. The sort of restoration work will depend on the kind of the existing floor. In older houses with period floors such as flagstone, quarry tile or parquet, renovation will typically entail repair and cleaning of the existing floor as it will likely be a desirable attribute of the house. In newer houses with carpet or real wood floors, renovation is more likely to consist of entirely exchanging the existing floors, either like for like with a similar material, or by changing from one material to another.
For wooden flooring, the process of restoration often consists of sanding the top layer of hardwood down, cleaning and then revarnishing or staining. Tile flooring can be cleaned and any broken or damaged tiles swapped, accompanied by regrouting or resealing. For carpets, maintenance can usually only extend to cleaning of the pile, any further issues or damage will generally require replacing the carpet.
Experienced floor renovation companies can advise you of the best method to breathe new life into tired floors or bring old flooring up to a high standard. Specialist tools could also be necessary for repairing or replacing flooring.

Knaresborough is a historic market town, spa town and civil parish in the Borough of Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England. In the past an area of the West Riding of Yorkshire, it is situated on the River Nidd, 4 miles east from the centre of Harrogate. The town is detailed in the Domesday Book of 1086 as ‘Cenheard’s fortress’, with the name of the region going through multiple adjustments over the next few centuries. The development of the town started around 1100, when it started to provide a market and draw in traders to service the castle. The town was not granted a royal charter to certify its status as a market town until 1310 by Edward II. A market continues to be held every Wednesday in the market square throughout the year. There many landmarks spread around the town that draw in regular visitors. Some examples include the remains of Knaresborough Castle, the House in the Rock, the railway viaduct over the River Nidd, and St. Robert’s Cave. Knaresborough is also home to ‘Ye Oldest Chymist Shoppe’ in England, which opened in 1720, a time in which there was much skepticism about such establishments. The town is also host to a number of social and cultural attractions during the year. It has held the annual Bed Race since 1966, which is organised by the Knaresborough Lions Club, and the Festival of Entertainment and Visual Arts (FEVA), an annual arts summer festival in the town centre, since 2001. There are 15 operating pubs in the town, along with a wine bar and several eateries. For all your house upgrades, make sure to make use of reputable professionals in Knaresborough to make certain of quality.
