Renovating floors may entail an array of tasks, from cleaning and maintenance, repairing existing flooring or even entirely removing and replacing floors. The kind of renovation work will depend upon the sort of the existing floor. In older houses with period floors such as flagstone, quarry tile or parquet, renovation is likely to include repair and cleaning of the current floor as it will likely be an important attribute of the house. In modern properties with carpet or wood floors, restoration is more likely to involve entirely exchanging the existing floors, either like for like using a similar material, or by changing from one material to another.
For wooden flooring, the procedure of restoration typically involves sanding the top layer of hardwood down, cleaning and then revarnishing or staining. Tile floors can be cleaned and any broken or damaged tiles exchanged, accompanied by regrouting or resealing. For carpets, maintenance can usually only extend to cleaning of the pile, any further issues or damage will generally require replacing the carpet.
Specialised floor renovation companies will be able to advise you of the best method to breathe new life into tired floors or bring old floors up to a high standard. Specialist tools are often required for repairing or replacing flooring.

Spean Bridge is a village in the parish of Kilmonivaig, in Lochaber in the Highland area of Scotland. The town takes its name from the Highbridge over the River Spean on General Wade’s military road in between Fort William as well as Ft Augustus, and not from Telford’s bridge of 1819 which brings the A82 over the river at the heart of the village. Hing on the Great Glen, Spean Bridge has transport links north in the direction of Inverness and southern to Fort William, offered by the A82, and also the A86 heads eastern to join the A9 at Kingussie. The town is offered by the Spean Bridge railway station offering links to Glasgow, London, and Mallaig as well as between 1903 and 1933 it used a branch line service to Fort Augustus. The Highbridge Altercation on 16 August 1745 was the first engagement of the Jacobite Climbing of 1745. The Commando Memorial, dedicated to the men of the original British Commando Forces raised throughout 2nd World War, lies about 1 mile (1.6 kilometres) north-west of Spean Bridge, at the junction of the A82 and the B8004. It overlooks the training locations of the Commando Training Depot developed in 1942 at Achnacarry Castle.
