Renovating floors could require a variety of tasks, from cleaning and maintenance, repairing existing flooring or even entirely removing and replacing flooring. The kind of restoration work will vary among the type of the pre-existing flooring. In older homes with period floors like flagstone, quarry tile or parquet, renovation will often include repair and cleaning of the present floor as it will likely be a desirable feature of the house. In modern properties with carpet or real wood floors, restoration is more likely to require entirely exchanging the current flooring, either like for like with a similar material, or by changing from one material to another.
For wooden floors, the method of renovation typically involves sanding the top layer of hardwood down, cleaning and then revarnishing or staining. Tile flooring can be cleaned and any broken or damaged tiles replaced, followed by regrouting or resealing. For carpets, maintenance can usually only extend to cleaning of the pile, any further issues or damage will frequently require replacing the carpet.
Specialised floor renovation companies will be able to advise you of the best solution to breathe new life into tired flooring or bring old flooring up to a high standard. Specialist tools are often necessary for repairing or replacing flooring.

Tayport, likewise referred to as Ferry-Port on Craig, is a community as well as burgh, and parish, in the area of Fife, Scotland, functioning as a traveler community for Dundee. The motto of the Burgh is Te oportet alte ferri (“It is incumbent on you to carry yourself high”), a pun on Tayport at auld Tay Ferry. Tayport lies close to the north east pointer of Fife. To the north it looks across the River Tay to Broughty Ferry and Broughty Castle. To the east is the large Tentsmuir Nature Reserve, an area of forested dunes measuring some 3 km from eastern to west and 6 kilometres from north to south and edged by vast sands that proceed all the way round to the mouth of the River Eden.
