Laminate flooring is an exceptionally widely used choice of flooring because of its durability, ease of maintenance, and economical price. A relatively recent addition to the market, laminate has rapidly expanded in popularity as a substitute for real wood or stone floors. Laminate flooring is a kind of man-made composite flooring made up of several layers, generally with a fibreboard core coated with a decorative layer featuring a printed image of the design, and then lastly covered with a wear layer that helps to protect the floor from scratches and other types of damage. Because laminate floor incorporates a decorative layer that can incorporate any kind of image, it comes in a wide variety of different styles to mimic the looks of many other styles of flooring like real wood or slate. While the majority of laminate floor includes a smooth top coating, it can also feature embossed or textured effects which mimic other kinds of flooring. Laminate flooring is suited to a number of rooms, but be careful if you intend on fitting it in a bathroom as specific moisture proofed laminate will have to be used. When choosing the best laminate for your home, decide on one with a suitable Abrasion Class (AC) rating, as this specificies the quantity of traffic the laminate is ranked to perform well under. Laminate flooring is not too difficult to install due to its snap or click together design. However, it is usually time consuming to install a huge amount of laminate, and also tricky to cut the planks to the exact dimensions, as well as difficult to ensure that the right underlay and damp proofing is fitted to suit your house. Specialist flooring companies can inform you on the most suitable laminate floor for your room, and ensure that it’s installed to the best quality.
