Carpets are a hugely popular preference of flooring, especially in rooms of the home where comfort is essential, like living rooms and bedrooms. Carpet is the term for a variety of flooring in which a material is either woven or tufted to a backing cloth. Carpets can be found in a huge array of colours and styles to match any type of interior decor, as well as in many different types of fibre and piles. A few of the more common types of fibre materials include the synthetic fibres polypropylene and nylon, and the natural fibres wool, sisal, or jute. These kinds of carpet are normally available in short or deep pile and can be produced by using a range of manufacturing methods, such as twist, Saxony, loop pile, Berber, cut and loop, or velvet. Carpets may appear in patterned, plain or striped designs. All of these different types of carpet are categorised according to their performance and how effectively they stand up to different amounts of traffic. They are typically rated to be either medium domestic, meaning bedrooms or studies, heavy domestic, specifying living and dining rooms, and very heavy domestic, suitable for utility rooms or hallways. It is always recommended to fit carpet with a layer of underlay underneath, as this will increase the look and feel of the carpet, as well as increasing its life and providing better sound and thermal insulation.

Holywood is a town in the city area of Belfast in County Down, Northern Ireland. It is a civil parish and townland comprising 755 acres lying on the shore of Belfast Lough, between Belfast and Bangor. Holywood Urban Area is classified as a medium town within the Belfast Metropolitan Urban Area (BMUA) by the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency, with the 2001 Census noting a permanent population of 12037. Within this population, around 20 per cent are aged under 16 years of age and 21 per cent were aged 60 and over. 50.6 percent of the population is male and 49.4 percent is female. The train line from Belfast to Holywood arrived in 1848, and this generated swift development. This expansion, in conjunction with that of close-by towns and villages along the seaside strip to Bangor, demanded the construction of the Holywood Bypass in the early 1970s. The town is a popular residential region and is distinguished for its classy shops, boutiques, arts and crafts. Holywood is most well-known for its maypole at the crossroads in the centre of town. Its origin stays rather unclear, however, according to regional legend, it stems from 1700, when a Dutch ship is said to have run aground on the coast nearby, and the crew put up the damaged mast to reveal their appreciation of the help offered to them by the townsfolk. The maypole continues to be in routine use for dancing at the annual May Day fair. The town also holds a yearly jazz and blues celebration. There are numerous sporting opportunities in Holywood, being the home of football clubs, golf clubs, cricket clubs and an athletics association. For all your house upgrades, make sure to make use of dependable experts in Holywood to make certain of quality.
