Ceramic tiling is a popular flooring option in kitchens or bathrooms. It’s usually used in these rooms as it’s very durable and moisture resistant, especially if you choose glazed ceramic tiles which include a moisture proof melted glass protective layer. This protective coating is resistant to stains and dirt, which means the tiles can merely be wiped clean, making them especially simple to maintain. Ceramic tile flooring is also relatively cheap, and comes in a wide range of designs as they can be printed in patterns or to simulate the appearance of many other flooring options such as wood or natural stones. Nevertheless, ceramic tiles continue to be very popular in traditional designs such as terracotta or dark gloss. Ceramic floor tiling is installed directly onto a concrete or backing board subfloor with a layer of mortar as adhesive and finally grout is added in between the tiles to act as a sealant. Adequate preparation of the concrete subfloor is essential when putting in ceramic tiles, as any bumps or ridges in the ground can drastically decrease the life of your tiles and cause them to break or bend prematurely. Underlay cannot be used in combination with ceramic floor tiles, which can result in them feeling cold in winter months, although a common solution for this is to include rugs to attain a warmer result.

It had a population of 1,826 in 2001, decreasing to 1,753 at the 2011 census. The town is a seaside resort, prominent with family members. Destinations consist of the ruins of Criccieth Castle, which have substantial views over the community and also bordering countryside. Close-by on Ffordd Castell (Castle Way) is Cadwalader’s Ice Cream Parlour, opened in 1927, whilst Stryd Fawr (High Street) has a number of bistro-style restaurants. In the centre exists Y Maes (“The Field”, or community square), part of the original middle ages community common. The community is noted for its fairs, hung on 23 May as well as 29 June annually, when large numbers of people see the fairground and also the marketplace which spreads with many of the streets of the town. Famous people associated with the town include the British head of state, David Lloyd George, who matured in the close-by village of Llanystumdwy, as well as poet William George. Group Captain Leslie Bonnet, RAF officer, author as well as begetter of the Welsh Harlequin Duck and his wife Joan Hutt, musician, both lived at Ymwlch simply outside Criccieth from 1949 up until their fatalities in 1985. Criccieth organized the National Eisteddfod in 1975 and in 2003 was granted Fairtrade Town status. It won the Wales in Bloom competition annually from 1999 to 2004. The town designs itself the “Pearl of Wales on the Shores of Snowdonia”.
