Laminate flooring is an exceptionally popular choice of flooring because of its durability, ease of maintenance, and economical price. A relatively new addition to the market, laminate has rapidly grown in popularity as an alternative for real wood or stone flooring. Laminate flooring is a kind of synthetic composite flooring consisting of several layers, generally with a fibreboard core covered with a decorative layer featuring a printed image of the design, and then finally protected with a wear layer that helps to protect the floor from scrapes and other forms of damage. Because laminate floor includes a decorative layer that may include any sort of image, it comes in a huge selection of different looks to mimic the looks of many other styles of flooring like real wood or slate. While the majority of laminate floor features a smooth top layer, it may in addition feature embossed or textured effects which mimic other kinds of flooring. Laminate flooring is suitable for a wide range of rooms, but be careful if you intend on installing it in a bathroom as specific moisture proofed laminate must be used. When choosing the right laminate for your house, decide on one with an appropriate Abrasion Class (AC) rating, as this designates the amount of traffic the laminate is rated to perform well under. Laminate flooring is relatively simple to install because of its snap or click together design. However, it is often time consuming to install a large amount of laminate, and also tricky to cut the planks to the precise size, as well as difficult to ensure that the correct underlay and damp proofing is fitted to suit your house. Specialist flooring companies will be able to advise you on the perfect laminate floor for your home, and ensure that it’s fitted to the best quality.
