Laminate flooring is an extremely popular choice of flooring due to its durability, ease of maintenance, and affordable price. A comparatively new addition to the market, laminate has rapidly grown in popularity as a replacement for real wood or stone flooring. Laminate flooring is a type of artificial composite flooring made up of several layers, often with a fibreboard core coated with a decorative layer featuring a printed image of the design, and then lastly protected with a wear layer that helps to protect the floor from scrapes and other forms of damage. Because laminate floor includes a decorative layer that may incorporate any kind of image, it is available in a wide selection of different styles to mimic the looks of many other styles of flooring like real wood or slate. While the majority of laminate floor features a smooth top layer, it may in addition have embossed or textured effects which mimic other kinds of flooring. Laminate flooring is ideal for a wide range of rooms, but be cautious if you intend on installing it in a bathroom as specific moisture proofed laminate should be used. When choosing the ideal laminate for your property, decide on one with an appropriate Abrasion Class (AC) rating, as this designates the amount of traffic the laminate is scored to perform well under. Laminate flooring is relatively easy to install because of its snap or click together design. However, it is usually time consuming to install a large amount of laminate, and also tricky to cut the planks to the exact dimensions, as well as difficult to ensure that the appropriate underlay and damp proofing is installed to suit your house. Specialist flooring companies can help you on the most suitable laminate floor for your space, and guarantee that it’s installed to the highest quality.
