Laminate flooring is an extremely popular selection of flooring due to its durability, ease of maintenance, and affordable price. A relatively new addition to the market, laminate has rapidly expanded in popularity as a replacement for real wood or stone floors. Laminate flooring is a variety of synthetic composite flooring composed of several layers, generally with a fibreboard core covered with a decorative layer featuring a printed image of the design, and then finally covered with a wear layer that protects the floor from scrapes and other forms of damage. Because laminate floor includes a decorative layer that can incorporate almost any image, it comes in a wide selection of different looks to mimic the aesthetics of many other types of flooring like real wood or slate. While the majority of laminate floor features a smooth top coating, it may in addition have embossed or textured effects which mimic other kinds of flooring. Laminate flooring is suitable for a wide range of rooms, but be cautious if you plan on installing it in a bathroom as specific moisture proofed laminate will have to be used. When choosing the ideal laminate for your property, decide on one with a suitable Abrasion Class (AC) rating, as this designates the quantity of traffic the laminate is graded to perform well under. Laminate flooring is relatively easy to install because of its snap or click together design. However, it can be time consuming to install a huge amount of laminate, and also tricky to cut the planks to the precise dimensions, as well as difficult to ensure that the appropriate underlay and damp proofing is fitted to suit your house. Specialist flooring companies can give you advice on the most suitable laminate floor for your property, and ensure that it’s installed to the highest quality.

Montacute is a tiny town and civil parish in Somerset, England, 4 miles (6.4 km) west of Yeovil. The village has a population of 831 (2011 census). The name Montacute is believed by some to derive from the Latin “Mons Acutus”, referring to the conically intense St Michael’s Hill controling the village to the west. An alternative view is that it is called after Drogo de Montagu, whose family originated from Montaigu-les-Bois, in the arrondissement of Coutances. Mortain held Montacute after 1066, Drogo was a close affiliate. The town is constructed virtually entirely of the regional hamstone. From the 15th century until the start of the 20th century it developed the heart of the estate of the Phelips household of Montacute House. The town has a fine medieval church, and was the site of a Cluniac priory, the lodge of which is currently a private residence. At the centre of the town is a huge square called the ‘Borough’ around which are organized picturesque cottages as well as a pub, the Phelips Arms; there is a 2nd hostelry and resort located in the town, called the King’s Arms.
