Laminate flooring is an extremely widely used choice of flooring because of its durability, ease of maintenance, and economical price. A relatively recent addition to the market, laminate has quickly increased in popularity as an alternative for real wood or stone flooring. Laminate flooring is a type of man-made composite flooring made up of several layers, usually with a fibreboard core coated with a decorative layer featuring a printed image of the design, and then finally covered with a wear layer that helps to protect the floor from scratches and other forms of damage. Because laminate floor incorporates a decorative layer that may include any kind of image, it is available in a huge range of different effects to mimic the aesthetics of many other types of flooring like real wood or slate. While the majority of laminate floor includes a smooth top coating, it may additionally have embossed or textured effects which mimic other kinds of flooring. Laminate flooring is well suited for a variety of rooms, but be careful if you plan on fitting it in a bathroom as specific moisture proofed laminate will have to be used. When choosing the best laminate for your property, select one with an appropriate Abrasion Class (AC) ranking, as this designates the amount of traffic the laminate is rated to perform well under. Laminate flooring is relatively easy to install due to its snap or click together design. However, it is usually time consuming to install a substantial amount of laminate, and also tricky to cut the planks to the exact size, as well as difficult to ensure that the right underlay and damp proofing is fitted to suit your house. Specialist flooring companies can inform you on the most suitable laminate floor for your space, and guarantee that it is fitted to the best quality.
