Carpets are an extremely popular selection of flooring, in particular in rooms of your house where comfort is valuable, like living spaces and bedrooms. Carpet identifies a kind of flooring in which a material is either woven or tufted to a backing cloth. Carpets are available in a wide range of colours and designs to suit any type of interior decoration, as well as in a number of different types of fibre and piles. Several of the more popular types of fibre materials include the artificial fibres polypropylene and nylon, and the natural fibres wool, sisal, or jute. These kinds of carpet are normally available in short or deep pile and can be manufactured by employing a range of production methods, such as twist, Saxony, loop pile, Berber, cut and loop, or velvet. Carpets may be found in patterned, plain or striped designs. All of the different kinds of carpet are ranked according to their performance and how effectively they stand up to different amounts of traffic. They are generally rated to be either medium domestic, meaning bedrooms or studies, heavy domestic, specifying living and dining rooms, and very heavy domestic, suitable for utility rooms or hallways. It is always recommended to fit carpet with a layer of underlay underneath, as this can increase the look and feel of the carpet, as well as increasing its life and providing better sound and thermal insulation.

Fort William is a settlement in the Highlands of Scotland. Originally formed on the still-extant village of Inverlochy, the town is located at the southern side of the Great Glen, Fort William lies nearby the head of Loch Linnhe, among Scotland’s longest sea lochs, next to the mouth of the rivers Nevis and Lochy. It is near to Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the British Isles, Glen Nevis and the town of Achnaphubuil is on the opposite coast of the loch. When the train line opened to Fort William on 7 August 1894, the station was granted prime position at the south side of the town. The outcome was that the town was divided from the lochside by railway tracks up until the 1970s when the present by-pass was constructed, and the station was re-located to the north end. In accordance with the 2001 Census, it has a permanent resident population of approximately 9908. This makes Fort William the second largest settlement in the Highlands of Scotland and the largest town: only the city of Inverness is larger. Within this population, around 726 people, making up 7.33 percent of the population, can speak Gaelic. Fort William is a leading tourism centre, with Glen Coe just to the south, Aonach Mòr to the east and Glenfinnan to the west, on the Road to the Isles. It is a centre for hillwalking and climbing due to its closeness to Ben Nevis and a number of other Munro mountains. It is additionally known for its neighboring downhill trail bike track. It is the start and end of both the West Highland Way (Milngavie-Fort William) and the Great Glen Way (a walk/cycle way Fort William-Inverness).
