Carpets are a hugely popular selection of flooring, especially in areas of your home where comfort is essential, like living rooms and bedrooms. Carpet refers to a variety of flooring in which a material is either woven or tufted to a backing cloth. Carpets are available in a wide variety of colours and designs to complement any style of interior decor, as well as in lots of different types of fibre and piles. Several of the more prevalent examples of fibre materials include the synthetic fibres polypropylene and nylon, and the natural fibres wool, sisal, or jute. These kinds of carpet are normally available in short or deep pile and can be produced using a variety of manufacturing methods, such as twist, Saxony, loop pile, Berber, cut and loop, or velvet. Carpets are available in patterned, plain or striped designs.
All of the diverse types of carpet are rated according to their performance and how effectively they stand up to different amounts of traffic. They are normally rated to be either medium domestic, meaning bedrooms or studies, heavy domestic, specifying living and dining rooms, and very heavy domestic, suitable for utility rooms or hallways. It is always recommended to fit carpet with a layer of underlay underneath, as this can enhance the appearance of the carpet, as well as increasing its life and delivering better sound and thermal insulation.

Montacute is a little town as well as civil parish in Somerset, England, 4 miles (6.4 kilometres) west of Yeovil. The village has a population of 831 (2011 census). The name Montacute is believed by some to originate from the Latin “Mons Acutus”, referring to the conically severe St Michael’s Hill dominating the town to the west. A different sight is that it is named after Drogo de Montagu, whose family members stemmed from Montaigu-les-Bois, in the arrondissement of Coutances. Mortain held Montacute after 1066, Drogo was a close affiliate. The village is developed virtually completely of the regional hamstone. From the 15th century until the start of the 20th century it created the heart of the estate of the Phelips family members of Montacute House. The town has a fine middle ages church, and was the website of a Cluniac abbey, the lodge of which is currently a personal residence. At the centre of the village is a huge square known as the ‘District’ around which are grouped picturesque cottages and a pub, the Phelips Arms; there is a second pub as well as hotel situated in the town, called the King’s Arms.
