Although tiling is more frequently used to protect bathroom and kitchen walls, it can be a very appealing flooring option. Relatively inexpensive, floor tiling comes in a wide variety of designs and styles and is appropriate for use in many areas of your home. Floor tiling is usually suited for bathroom or kitchen floors as it is easy to clean and highly resilient, as well as being moisture proof. Floor tiles are usually manufactured from ceramic or porcelain, however they can be purchased in many other options of material such as slate, marble and limestone, each of which will have a different appearance and durability.
When installing floor tiling, it is vital to ensure that the base surface is as clean and level as possible. Tiling also generally needs an extra backing board to be laid on top of the present floor so as to ensure a flat finish and to maintain the lifespan of your tiles. After this additional board is installed, a layer of mortar is used to adhere the tiles down, and then the gaps in between are filled with grout to seal the tiles against moisture. The installation of tiles yourself can be a difficult job which may require lots of tile cutting, and any errors can be extremely costly to correct or even cause damage to your floor, so choose a specialist to install your floor tiling. Professional tiling companies can suggest for you the perfect tile to use for your room, and guarantee the fitting is of an exceptional standard.

Montacute is a little town and civil parish in Somerset, England, 4 miles (6.4 km) west of Yeovil. The village has a population of 831 (2011 census). The name Montacute is thought by some to derive from the Latin “Mons Acutus”, describing the conically acute St Michael’s Hill dominating the village to the west. A different view is that it is named after Drogo de Montagu, whose family originated from Montaigu-les-Bois, in the arrondissement of Coutances. Mortain held Montacute after 1066, Drogo was a close associate. The village is developed practically entirely of the local hamstone. From the 15th century up until the start of the 20th century it developed the heart of the estate of the Phelips family of Montacute House. The village has a fine medieval church, and was the website of a Cluniac abbey, the lodge of which is currently a personal house. At the centre of the town is a huge square referred to as the ‘District’ around which are organized stunning cottages and a pub, the Phelips Arms; there is a 2nd hostelry and also hotel situated in the village, called the King’s Arms.
