Ceramic tiling is a common flooring option in kitchens or bathrooms. It’s normally used in these rooms as it is extremely durable and moisture resistant, especially if you opt for glazed ceramic tiles which have a moisture proof melted glass protective coating. This protective coating is immune to stains and dirt, meaning the tiles can simply be wiped clean, making them especially easy to maintain. Ceramic tile flooring is also fairly affordable, and comes in a huge variety of designs as they can be printed in patterns or to imitate the look of many different flooring options such as hardwood or natural stones. However, ceramic tiles continue to be popular in traditional designs such as terracotta or dark gloss. Ceramic floor tiling is installed directly onto a concrete or backing board subfloor with a layer of mortar as adhesive and finally grout is added between the tiles to act as a sealant. Proper preparation of the concrete subfloor is vital when putting in ceramic tiles, as any bumps or ridges in the ground can considerably decrease the lifespan of your tiles and cause them to break or warp prematurely. Underlay cannot be used with ceramic floor tiles, which may result in them feeling cool in the winter, although a popular remedy to this is to include rugs to achieve a warmer result.

Ivybridge is a town and civil parish in the South Hams, in Devon, England. It is found about 9 miles (14.5 km) east of Plymouth. It is at the southern extremity of Dartmoor, a National Park of England and Wales and is found along the A38 ‘Devon Expressway’ road. According to the 2011 Census, the town has a permanent population of around 11851 individuals. Detailed in records as early as the 13th century, Ivybridge’s early history is marked by its status as an important crossing-point over the River Erme on the Exeter-to-Plymouth route. In the 16th century, mills were constructed using the River Erme’s power. The parish of Saint John was formed in 1836, with Ivybridge becoming a civil parish in 1894. It emerged as a town in 1977. The early urbanisation and development of Ivybridge mainly accompanied the Industrial Revolution. When the South Devon Railway Company established its train route through Ivybridge in the 19th century, a paper mill was constructed alongside it, which brought on an increase in housing nearby. The paper mill closed in the beginning of the 21st century, after being in operation for over 150 years in the town, and the buildings are being transformed to homes and shops. The shopping area is primarily along Fore Street, with some small shops and restaurants located in the Glanvilles Mill shopping centre which is accessible from Fore Street. The shopping centre features over 35 shops, that includes both local and nationwide chain stores, as well as eateries and cafés. Despite occasionally cited as a dormitory town, lots of people work in the town itself, and agriculture continues to play an economic role for Ivybridge’s hinterland. The area bordering Ivybridge is almost completely farmland. For all your home developments, make certain to find trustworthy professionals in Ivybridge to make certain of quality.
