While tiling is more generally used to protect bathroom and kitchen walls, it can be a very desirable flooring option. Relatively low cost, floor tiling is available in numerous designs and styles and is appropriate for use in many rooms of your home. Floor tiling is generally applied to bathroom or kitchen floors as it is simple to clean and highly sturdy, as well as being moisture proof. Floor tiles are usually manufactured from ceramic or porcelain, but they are available in many other options of material such as slate, marble and limestone, each of which will have a different appearance and durability.
When installing floor tiling, it is essential to ensure that the base surface is as clean and level as possible. Tiling also generally needs an extra backing board to be laid on top of the current floor to be able to ensure a flat finish and to maintain the lifespan of your tiles. After this additional board is installed, a layer of mortar is used to adhere the tiles down, and then the gaps in between are filled with grout to seal the tiles against moisture. The installation of tiles yourself can be a difficult job which can require lots of tile cutting, and any errors can be extremely expensive to correct or even cause damage to your floor, so choose a professional to install your floor tiling. Experienced tiling companies can advise you on the ideal tile to use for your room, and ensure the fitting is of a superior standard.

Ivybridge is a town and civil parish in the South Hams, in Devon, England. It lies about 9 miles (14.5 kilometres) east of Plymouth. It is at the southern extremity of Dartmoor, a National Park of England and Wales and lies along the A38 ‘Devon Expressway’ road. According to the 2011 Census, the town has a permanent population of around 11851 people. Cited in documents as early as the 13th century, Ivybridge’s early history is marked by its status as an important crossing-point over the River Erme on the Exeter-to-Plymouth route. In the 16th century, mills were built using the River Erme’s power. The parish of Saint John was formed in 1836, with Ivybridge coming to be a civil parish in 1894. It became a town in 1977. The early urbanisation and advancement of Ivybridge largely accompanied the Industrial Revolution. When the South Devon Railway Company constructed its train route through Ivybridge in the 19th century, a paper mill was constructed alongside it, which brought on an increase in housing close by. The paper mill closed in the beginning of the 21st century, after being in operation for over 150 years in the town, and the buildings are being converted to homes and shops. The shopping area is primarily along Fore Street, with some little shops and restaurants situated in the Glanvilles Mill shopping centre which is accessible from Fore Street. The shopping centre features over 35 shops, that includes both regional and national chain stores, as well as restaurants and cafés. Despite sometimes described as a dormitory town, a lot of individuals work in the town itself, and agriculture continues to play an economic role for Ivybridge’s hinterland. The area bordering Ivybridge is practically completely farmland. For all your home developments, make certain to find reputable contractors in Ivybridge to make certain of quality.
