Although tiling is more commonly used to protect bathroom and kitchen walls, it can be a very appealing flooring option. Relatively affordable, floor tiling is available in a wide variety of designs and styles and is suitable for use in many areas of your home. Floor tiling is most often suited for bathroom or kitchen floors as it is simple to clean and very heavy duty, as well as being moisture proof. Floor tiles are normally made from ceramic or porcelain, however they can be purchased in many other choices of material such as slate, marble and limestone, each of which will have a different appearance and durability. When installing floor tiling, it is critical to ensure that the base surface is as clean and level as possible. Tiling also often requires an additional backing board to be laid on top of the existing floor so as to ensure a flat finish and to preserve the lifespan of your tiles. After this additional board is installed, a layer of mortar is used to stick the tiles down, and then the gaps in between are filled with grout to seal the tiles against moisture. Installing tiles yourself can be a difficult job which can require lots of tile cutting, and any errors can be very costly to rectify or even cause damage to your floor, so choose a specialist to lay your floor tiling. Experienced tiling companies can suggest for you the perfect tile to use for your room, and ensure the fitting is of an exceptional standard.

Held every Thursday and Saturday, together with on Tuesdays with the participation of a couple of stalls, Guisborough market has had a standout place in the history of the town. Initially selling mostly cattle and animals, the market gradually grew into a more general market for such items as fruit and vegetables, clothing and flower stalls. It is run from the early morning to late afternoon on the cobbles that line Westgate, the primary shopping street. Because of its spot in close proximity to the ironstone mines of the North York Moors, the town also had a share in the success of the Industrial Revolution.
