Renovating floors may require an array of tasks, from cleaning and maintenance, repairing existing flooring or even entirely removing and replacing flooring. The sort of restoration work will depend on the sort of the present floor. In older homes with period floors like flagstone, quarry tile or parquet, restoration will usually consist of repair and cleaning of the present floor as it will likely be an appealing feature of the home. In newer houses with carpet or hardwood flooring, renovation is more likely to consist of entirely exchanging the existing flooring, either like for like employing a similar material, or by changing from one material to another.
For wooden flooring, the procedure of renovation often consists of sanding the top layer of real wood down, cleaning and then revarnishing or staining. Tile flooring can be cleaned and any broken or damaged tiles swapped out, followed by regrouting or resealing. For carpets, maintenance can usually only extend to cleaning of the pile, any further issues or damage will frequently require replacing the carpet.
Specialised floor renovation companies will be able to advise you of the best solution to breathe new life into tired floors or bring old flooring up to a high standard. Specialist tools might also be necessary for repairing or replacing flooring.

St. Helier is a district in Jersey, the biggest Channel Island in the English Channel. Although Government House is in St. Saviour, St. Helier is the capital of Jersey. It is generally a rural parish, but its urban parts make up 34.2% of the full population of Jersey.
The town gets its name from Helier, a saint who lived as a hermit and was martyred in Jersey. The church named after him used to be on the edge of the shore, but due to land reclamation it is now some way inland. Land reclamation is where new land is made using the ocean, riverbeds or lakebeds.
In 1155, an Abbey of St. Helier was erected close to the Hermitage. It was closed during the Reformation and remade to form the Elizabeth Castle. Sir Walter Raleigh, who was the Governor of Jersey between 1600 and 1603, named it after the Queen.
St Helier is base of the Central Market, which is an enclosed market opened in 1882. It is a recognised Site of Special Interest, including Victorian architecture and an ornamental fountain. The market offers flowers, fruit and vegetables, and there are many places to eat and drink there. Next to the Central Market sits Beresford fish Market.
If you’re looking to have home improvements done for your house in St. Helier, make sure you always get quotes from a well-known company.
