Laminate flooring is an exceptionally common selection of flooring due to its durability, ease of maintenance, and inexpensive price. A relatively new addition to the market, laminate has rapidly increased in popularity as an alternative for real wood or stone flooring. Laminate flooring is a kind of artificial composite flooring made up of several layers, typically with a fibreboard core topped with a decorative layer featuring a printed image of the design, and then finally protected with a wear layer that protects the floor from scrapes and other types of damage.
Because laminate floor features a decorative layer that may include almost any image, it is available in a huge range of different looks to mimic the aesthetics of many other types of flooring like real wood or slate. While the majority of laminate floor features a smooth top layer, it can also include embossed or textured effects which mimic other types of flooring. Laminate flooring is suited to a variety of rooms, but be cautious if you intend on installing it in a bathroom as specific moisture proofed laminate must be used. When choosing the right laminate for your home, choose one with an appropriate Abrasion Class (AC) ranking, as this specificies the amount of traffic the laminate is graded to perform well under.
Laminate flooring is relatively easy to install due to its snap or click together design. However, it is usually time consuming to install a large amount of laminate, and also tricky to cut the planks to the exact dimensions, as well as difficult to ensure that the correct underlay and damp proofing is fitted to suit your house. Specialist flooring companies can inform you on the ideal laminate floor for your space, and guarantee that it is fitted to the best quality.

St. Helier is a district in Jersey, the largest Channel Island in the English Channel. Although Government House is within St. Saviour, St. Helier is the official capital of Jersey. It is generally a rural parish, but its urban areas make up 34.2% of the total population of Jersey.
The town gets its name from Helier, a saint who lived as a hermit and was martyred in Jersey. The church devoted to him used to be on the edge of the shore, but as a result of land reclamation it is now some way inland. Land reclamation is where new land is made using the ocean, riverbeds or lakebeds.
In 1155, an Abbey of St. Helier was erected close to the Hermitage. It was shut during the Reformation and rebuilt to make the Elizabeth Castle. Sir Walter Raleigh, who was the Governor of Jersey between 1600 and 1603, named it after the Queen.
St Helier is base of the Central Market, which is an enclosed market opened in 1882. It is an official Site of Special Interest, displaying Victorian architecture and an ornamental fountain. The market sells flowers, fruit and vegetables, and there are a number of places to eat and drink there. Next to the Central Market sits Beresford fish Market.
