Laminate flooring is an exceptionally popular selection of flooring due to its durability, ease of maintenance, and inexpensive price. A relatively recent addition to the market, laminate has quickly grown in popularity as a substitute for real wood or stone flooring. Laminate flooring is a kind of artificial composite flooring composed of several layers, often with a fibreboard core coated with a decorative layer featuring a printed image of the design, and then finally protected with a wear layer that protects the floor from scratches and other types of damage.
Because laminate floor contains a decorative layer that may incorporate any sort of image, it is available in a huge variety of different effects to mimic the appearance of many other types of flooring like real wood or slate. While the majority of laminate floor features a smooth top coating, it may in addition have embossed or textured effects which mimic other kinds of flooring. Laminate flooring is well suited for a wide range of rooms, but be cautious if you plan on fitting it in a bathroom as specific moisture proofed laminate will have to be used. When choosing the right laminate for your home, decide on one with a suitable Abrasion Class (AC) rating, as this designates the amount of traffic the laminate is ranked to perform well under.
Laminate flooring is not too difficult to install due to its snap or click together design. However, it can be time consuming to install a sizable amount of laminate, and also tricky to cut the planks to the exact size, as well as difficult to ensure that the right underlay and damp proofing is installed to suit your house. Specialist flooring companies can inform you on the best laminate floor for your room, and ensure that it’s fitted to the best quality.
