Laminate flooring is a very widely used selection of flooring due to its durability, ease of maintenance, and inexpensive price. A comparatively new addition to the market, laminate has quickly grown in popularity as a substitute for real wood or stone floors. Laminate flooring is a kind of man-made composite flooring consisting of several layers, often with a fibreboard core covered with a decorative layer featuring a printed image of the design, and then finally protected with a wear layer that helps to protect the floor from scrapes and other forms of damage. Because laminate floor features a decorative layer that may incorporate any type of image, it comes in a huge selection of different effects to mimic the looks of many other types of flooring like real wood or slate. While the majority of laminate floor includes a smooth top coating, it may in addition include embossed or textured effects which mimic other styles of flooring. Laminate flooring is suitable for a wide range of rooms, but be careful if you intend on fitting it in a bathroom as specific moisture proofed laminate will have to be used. When choosing the right laminate for your property, pick one with a suitable Abrasion Class (AC) ranking, as this designates the amount of traffic the laminate is graded to perform well under. Laminate flooring is relatively easy to install due to its snap or click together design. However, it is often time consuming to install a substantial amount of laminate, and also tricky to cut the planks to the precise size, as well as difficult to ensure that the right underlay and damp proofing is fitted to suit your house. Specialist flooring companies can give you advice on the ideal laminate floor for your room, and guarantee that it is fitted to the best quality.

The abbey stands at the west end of the market place, which is the home of the Shambles, a Grade II covered market developed in 1766 by Sir Walter Blackett.
