Carpets are a very popular choice of flooring, especially in rooms of your house where comfort is valuable, like living spaces and bedrooms. Carpet refers to a variety of flooring in which a material is either woven or tufted to a backing cloth. Carpets can be purchased in a huge array of colours and patterns to suit any style of interior decor, as well as in a number of different kinds of fibre and piles. A number of the more prevalent examples of fibre materials include the synthetic fibres polypropylene and nylon, and the natural fibres wool, sisal, or jute. These types of carpet are typically available in short or deep pile and can be manufactured by utilising a variety of production methods, such as twist, Saxony, loop pile, Berber, cut and loop, or velvet. Carpets may be found in patterned, plain or striped designs. All of these various kinds of carpet are graded according to their performance and how well they are suited to different amounts of traffic. They are typically graded to be either medium domestic, meaning bedrooms or studies, heavy domestic, specifying living and dining rooms, and very heavy domestic, suitable for utility rooms or hallways. It is always recommended to install carpet with a layer of underlay underneath, as this can increase the appearance of the carpet, as well as increasing its life and delivering better sound and thermal insulation.

Littleborough is a village within the Metropolitan Borough of Rochdale, in Greater Manchester. It lies in the upper Roch Valley by the foothills of the South Pennines, 3 miles (4.8 kilometres) northeast of Rochdale and 12.6 miles (20.3 kilometres) north-northeast of the city of Manchester. In 2001, Littleborough and its surrounding suburbs of Calderbrook, Shore and Smithy Bridge were noted as having a population of 13,807. When cotton was introduced as a base to make cloths, Littleborough experienced an increase of families, generally from the neighbouring county, the West Riding of Yorkshire. Affluent houses and estates were developed on the outskirts of the town. Coal mining, engineering ventures and increasingly sizeable fabric mills resulted in Littleborough’s population expansion and urbanisation, which produced its status as a mill town. Throughout the mid-20th century, imports of cheaper foreign products contributed towards the steady deindustrialisation of Littleborough, but the business diversity of the town helped it to keep off the developing financial depression, which was endured elsewhere in North West England. Littleborough’s stone-built town centre is designated as a Conservation Area for its particular architectural qualities. The town also boasts excellent dining and leisure facilities, with Littleborough Rugby Union Football Club being elected ‘Club of the Year’ at National Ruby Football Awards. For all your house upgrades, make sure to make use of trusted contractors in Littleborough to make certain of quality.
