Ceramic tiling is a common flooring option in kitchens or bathrooms. It’s often installed in these rooms as it is extremely durable and moisture resistant, especially if you opt for glazed ceramic tiles which include a moisture proof melted glass protective coating. This protective layer is resilient to stains and dirt, which means the tiles can merely be wiped clean, making them especially easy to care for. Ceramic tile flooring is also relatively inexpensive, and comes in a wide variety of designs as they can be printed in patterns or to simulate the look of many other flooring options such as wood or natural stones. Even so, ceramic tiles remain popular in traditional designs such as terracotta or dark gloss.
Ceramic floor tiling is installed directly onto a concrete or backing board subfloor with a layer of mortar as adhesive and lastly grout is added in between the tiles to act as a sealant. Adequate preparation of the concrete subfloor is vital when putting in ceramic tiles, as any bumps or ridges in the floor can significantly decrease the lifespan of your tiles and cause them to split or warp prematurely. Underlay cannot be used with ceramic floor tiles, which can result in them feeling cold in the winter, although a popular remedy to this is to add rugs to attain a warmer appearance.

Kingussie is a village in the Badenoch as well as Strathspey ward of the Highland council location of Scotland. Historically in Inverness-shire, it lies beside the A9 road, although the old course of the A9 serves as the community’s main road which has been bypassed given that 1979. Kingussie is 42 miles (68 km) south of Inverness, 12 miles (19 km) south of Aviemore, and 3 miles (4.8 km) north of Newtonmore. The name “Kingussie” comes from the Gaelic, “Ceann a’ Ghiuthsaich” which indicates “Head of the Pine forest”. The damages of the very early 18th-century Ruthven Barracks (Historic Scotland; open up to visitors in all times) lie near the initial site of the village, which was transferred to stay clear of the flood plain of the River Spey. The Hanoverian Barracks were built on the website of Ruthven Castle, the seat of the Comyns, Lords of Badenoch in the Middle Ages.
