Although tiling is more generally used to protect bathroom and kitchen walls, it can be a very beautiful flooring option. Relatively inexpensive, floor tiling comes in a wide variety of designs and styles and is suitable for use in many rooms of your home. Floor tiling is generally used on bathroom or kitchen floors as it is easy to clean and very heavy duty, as well as being moisture proof. Floor tiles tend to be produced from ceramic or porcelain, but they can be purchased in many other choices of material such as slate, marble and limestone, each of which will have a different appearance and durability.
When installing floor tiling, it is essential to ensure that the base surface is as clean and level as possible. Tiling also usually requires an additional backing board to be laid on top of the pre-existing floor so as to ensure a flat finish and to protect the lifespan of your tiles. After this additional board is installed, a layer of mortar is used to adhere the tiles down, and then the gaps in between are filled with grout to seal the tiles against moisture. Laying tiles yourself can be a difficult job which could require lots of tile cutting, and any errors can be extremely costly to correct or even cause damage to your floor, so choose an expert to install your floor tiling. Specialist tiling companies can advise you on the perfect tile to use for your room, and ensure the fitting is of a superior standard.

Abergavenny is a market town in Monmouthshire, Wales. It is about 6 miles from the English border and 15 miles west of Monmouth, and has a population of 10,078. It was formerly the location of a Roman fort and it became a medieval walled town in the Welsh Marches. Abergavenny also contains the remnants of a medieval stone castle erected after the Norman conquest of Wales.
The town is often called ‘the Gateway to Wales’. It sits at the confluence of the tributary stream Gavenny and the River Usk. It is enclosed by the mountains Blorenge and Sugar Loaf, and five hills. There is access to the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons National Park through Abergavenny.
The number of Welsh speakers in Abergavenny has increased a lot in recent years. The 2001 census recorded that 10% of the population spoke Welsh, whereas in 1991 2% said they spoke it. The town also has a Welsh-speaking primary school called Ysgol Gymraeg y Fenni.
